I've created a permission set to allow certain users access to edit specific fields on the lead record. To test this out I've assigned the perm set to one of our users.

  • When I log in as the user without the perm set, he can view but not edit any of the fields on the lead.
  • When I log in with the perm set assigned, he can now edit every single field on the lead instead of the two that I intend for him to edit. 

It seems the perm set is opening up access to the lead too much, however I've confirmed the permission set I created only gives access to these two fields.

    Hi Mike, 

     

    I was able to figure things out- the profile, although it was set to Read only, also had field level permissions that were set to Edit. This conflicted with my perm set and I was able to resolve it once I removed the field level access from the profile.
