I am struggling to see the value of person accounts for K-12. Can anyone help?

Thanks Kushi, it sounds like your main use case would use just Contacts. You also may want to use EDA settings and set the Default Account Model as Household account. Then each new contact where you do not match it to an existing household in the Account field will be associated with a new household by default. This keeps some data integrity.
