The Primary Email is still being populated on this contact record even after I have removed all email addresses from it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this?
My goal is to not have any email on this contact record.

How did you remove the email addresses? The personal, work, and alt email address fields are specific to NPSP. Updates to those fields will typically trigger a workflow rule to update the standard email field. I would try updating the Preferred email field and saving.
