Is there a way to have volunteer shifts appear in contacts page

We use the Volunteer App often. It is great, except I can't figure out how to get the Volunteer Shift details to appear on the Contact's page in a similar way as a donation would. I want to be able to see every shift a volunteer has ever done under the volunteer details tab on their contact file page. I have tried doing 'lookup relationships' but that doesn't showing any pre-existing volunteer shifts. Any ideas?
