Good afternoon. I am new-ish to Salesforce, and I understand that List Views cannot be incorporated into dashboards.
My workaround for this (list views are easier for our sales team to disposition from than reports) is to find a way to add hyperlinks to the Dashboard to that reps can quickly click to the list views from the dashboard.
I haven't been able to find a way to do this .... any ideas?
Hi @Lauren Rust - I think I’ve worked with that group of end users before :) I’m sorry to bear the news that you can’t embed a hyperlink into a standard dashboard—as I *think* you’re looking to do—but I’m happy to share a solution I’ve built that’s garnered rave reviews and IMO is better: build a custom Lightning page and put everything your users need on that page.
I’m not sure of your comfort level re: working with Lightning pages, but you don’t have to be a super experienced admin to pull off a really good one. As long as you can get into the mindset of your end users—which it sounds like you’re already there, you’ve tackled the hardest part! (Ok, you probably also need a little time to tinker in a sandbox.)
Depending on your requirements and current setup, you might be able to get away with customizing your current record detail page and adding some components to include dashboard(s), list views and rich text. Guess what? You can add those sought-after hyperlinks from within a rich text component and you can place your rich text component next to your dashboard component…and that can go next to a beloved list view!
If changing the detail page isn’t an option or optimal, that’s ok. Try creating a new app page instead—being sure to use the components I mentioned above. This is the route I ended up taking for my users needing something similar to what I think you’re looking for. Depending on your user setup and segmentation, the permission assignments could be a tad more intricate with a separate app page, but I still think this solution might work for you and it’d be great fun to build. I personally LOVE the power, ease and impact of rolling out a truly helpful Lightning page!
