I work for IT and I have a few roles. Currently I am trying to set up inventory tracking in SF but I have limited experience in SF. For instance, when I assign someone a new headset I would like to take a picture and list it's service tag/asset tag along with the user's name who it is assigned to as well as any notes about the equipment and it's price. Keeping in mind this would be only to track internal equipment for employees not clients. If there is a way to have preselections of the item like saved picture and make/model to select then just add the user's name to it that would be awesome.

Eric's two-object design (Equipment plus Equipment Assignment) is the right shape if you build it yourself. If you'd rather start from something ready-made, ITAM App is a free native package that already has asset types, serial and asset tag fields, assignment to employees, and assignment history. It also adds licence tracking and warranty or renewal alerts. Employees don't need Salesforce licences to have equipment assigned to them. Disclosure: I'm one of the makers. https://anyityapp.com/ITAM_App
