Why when I go to create a new prospect in an account, prospect isn't listed as a record type?

I created a new Record type called prospect1, and added it to the account record type. So, I'm able to create a new record type and apply it to the account setting, so that when I go to create a new account i have the option to create a new "prospect1". But, we already have prospects created, and they are labled as "prospect", but when i go to create a new account, and choose the record type I can't get the origional "Prospect" record type to display. I don't just want to create a new record type labeled "Prospects" because then when running reports all the new and old prospects will be seperated. 

 

I need help figuring out how to make the origional "Prospect" record type appear on the "New Record Type" so that new prospects will still be linked with old ones.

    If you edit the Profile or Permission Set and select Object Settings, you can edit the Object and configure which Record Types members of that Profile or Permission can use.
