I copied all merge fields in Conga Template but I am trying to change how the word document looks

Hey guys, I posted below in the FinancialForce community but haven't gotten an answer. I am essentially trying to change how our invoices look. They are generated out of a Conga Template. My boss found an invoice that he likes, so I am trying to use the styling. I copied and pasted all of the merge fields into it, but now the document is generating and giving me an error. I cannot find what is causing this error. Even when I put the old template back, it is not generating the document. Any help would be appreciated.

hey all - I am having an issue with invoice generation and am new to Conga. So our implementation company created an invoice template that is quite ugly. My CEO asked me to change the styling and so I copied all of the merge fields into a different word document and created a new template in our sandbox. When I add that template to the solution, I am getting an error. When I even try to swap the word docs in the existing template, I still get an error. The button URL's match, and I have no idea what I am doing wrong. If someone could assist that would be so great!

    Hi Leor, 

     

    Have you tried using the debug log in Conga Composer when generating the document? That should help provide more detail as to why the document is erroring out. 

     

    Also, as painstaking as it can be, what has helped me as well is to remove merge fields one by one until the template works as expected, as this can help pinpoint if there are certain fields causing the issue.
