Hi All,

I have a client with SharePoint and would like to have a folder for each opportunity and view files in the folder in Salesforce.

Is Files Connect the right solution?

I am struggling to find a description of what Files Connect does - I can find out how to install it - but I want to go to the client with a brief on capabilities and how it would work day-to-day, in some detail.

    Hi Micheal!

Files Connect allows you to have records(files) from Sharepoint, directly on Salesforce.

Generally, it works with an external Object, generated by an External Data Source.

This is the link for the configuration: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=admin_files_connect_sp_online_auth_office365.htm&type=5 (https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=admin_files_connect_sp_online_auth_office365.htm&type=5) (you need an Office 365 user)

A little tip that you can use, is to create a Lightning Component, and display a list of files (records on the External Object) just for that Opportunity.

For retrieving the correct Files, you must set the Name of the file like: OpportunityName_NameOfTheFile, so you can query per Name.

Once you insert a record in the Sharepoint Site, you can retrieve that on SF (on the External Object) after 2-3 minutes.

    Regards,

    Salvatore
