I do not want the email alert dependant on an Opportunity update or creation.
I have used a workflow to send the update when case is created, updated, ect.
I also set a Time-Dependant Workflow Action. Will that send the email alert automatically?
Is there a better way to have the email alert sent on time from Closed Date alone, not dependent on any updated or cases cahanges to intiate the rul to run?

the time trigger workflow action will do it, when 7 days before close date occurs, it checks the criteria of the workflow rule and if it is satisfied, email alert will be sent
