Dashboard issues with confidential data

Question

I have sales users able to see dashboards with confidential information... dashboards show up under role subordinates recent dashboards if I log in as them but were never accessed by user.. the users do not have access to the folder of the reports or the dashboard folder. they can see the dashboard snapshot and click into reports however no data is available in the report... I need a fresh admin mind that can help me figure out what I'm missing Thanks in advance!

Just come across below article, Hoping it might answer your question.

When you deselect the Standard Report Visibility checkbox, users with the “View All Users” permission can still see all reports based on standard report types. All users can also see these reports if the organization-wide default for the user object is Public Read Only.
