Report & Dashboard Diaplay As - Chart are marked in grey I'm not able to select any Chart. Can anyone suggest how to fix this?

Can you post a screenshot of how you have your Report setup?
Which fields is the Report Grouped or Summarized by?
a lot of Chart Types require the Source Report to have at least 1 field Grouping
