Adding Additional Searchable Fields

Is there any way to add additional characteristics/fields to either accounts or contacts or both? I am trying to track which of my contacts I have made a video for by using the search engine to look for 'video made' as a characteristic.

 

There is a lot of turn over in my industry so it would be great to be able to track the building the video was made more and specific contact it was made for seperately.

    Hi Liza,

     

    Only certain fields can searchable in the search bar. See this article: http://blog.jeffdouglas.com/2010/05/07/using-exernal-id-fields-in-salesforce/

     

    Instead of searching for 'Video Made' in the search bar, why not create a checkbox on the object (account/contact/both). You can check the box on all records that you made the video for. Then use a list view or a report to pull all records where 'Video Made' check box equals true.
