Is it possible to restrict who can be assigned a team role in Opportunity teams? E.g., a certain group of 10 or 12 users are the only ones who should be allowed to be assigned the team role of "Executive Sponsor", however they don't all share the same security role or profile. On the flip side, anyone of these users could be assigned another role, that is they should not be restricted to just this team role of Executive Sponsor on another opportunity... Is this possible with a validation rule or other tool?
The fieds avalable for Validation Rules on Opp Team do not include the User ID associated with the team member Role. I even tried to create a custom field to hold the User info so it could be used in the Validation Rule.
