** Have a custom object titled, "Benefits."
** On that object, I have a static currency field that is always $1000
** I have two other fields titled "Benefit Balance (Before)" and "Benefit Balance (Approvals)."
** There are two other fields titled "Approved By" and "Approval Date."
** Lastly, there is a "Total Cost" field.
This is what I am looking to do. I want the "Benefit Balance (Before)" field to be a running total of everything that has been approved before that particular record is saved. The way this can be determined is by the "Approved By" field. The "Benefit Balance (Approvals)" would be the running total of everything, but that has been approved.
Both of these fields are going to look at the total cost of the current record and add that to the running total of the previous records. What would be the best way to do this? Perhaps an autolaunched flow would work or maybe something much easier. I wanted to get feedback from the community.
Thanks,
Mike

The best way to do this would be with DLRS or master-detail relationships. Since you've rejected those right off the bat, your only solution is code.
