How can I set up reporting for promotions on specific products? We run multiple sales on products every month and I want to be able to track the promotion, find out how many items sold and what the revenue was. Will need reporting on it as well. I thought maybe setting up campaigns for each promo, but they aren't tied to any accounts initially. My company also uses person accounts so that usually gives us some road blocks. What I'm looking for is something that allows me to enter: Widget X 10% off 3/1-3/14 and then being able to pull a report to show me how many Widgets were purchased and the revenue in comparison to it's sales the previous year/period whatever.

    Hi Meagan,

     

    I thought you were on the right track with using a Campaign.

     

    Would there be an issue with using the Primary Campaign Source field on the Opportunity object & then doing all of you analysis by comparing Opportunities?

     

    The main issue with that would be ensuring that you can associate all of the Opportunities to the appropriate Campaign(s) (e.g., through manual association via the reps or mass updating the Opportunities after they're created)
