This article seems to indicate that you can include the Article as a PDF by using a merge field in an e-mail template, but I can't get this to work in Lightning using either Classic or Lightning e-mail templates.

And the Lightning Roadmap indicates that a Component Action to Insert PDF to Case Email is still off in the 'future'.

For what it's worth, I finally figured out how to "Insert Article in to Email" - where it simply includes fields from the Article in the Body of your Email. But I'm wondering if there is any way to attach the Article as a PDF?
