We have set up one team with a Kanban view on their opportunities based on stage, the stages include a 'discount code' stage, which some customers take advantage of. If the opportunity reaches this stage it triggers an email to another team. Trouble is, if you move the opportunity beyond this stage using the Kanban view, it also triggers the email.
It is as though the change using Kanban has passed the opportunity through all the other stages.
Is there a way of isolating this so that the email only triggers if it is actually changed to 'discount code', and not if it is changed to a stage beyond that using Kanban?

Hi Sara,
Could you please confirm how email is getting triggered.
As per my understanding there must be either workflow rule or Process builder which is triggering email. You may modified the workflow rule criteria to send it only when stage is hanged to Discount Code.
But there is no field or value which will be used to identify the triggering point(Kanban view)
