If checkbox field = true, attach file

Question

In Opportunities, I have a checkbox field called "Entitlement Request". If this checkbox is marked, the user must attach files. Is this a validation rule? How can I create this mandate? Thank you.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do that using Validation Rules, custom APEX Code is the only way I can think of :(   Please mark this answer as the best answer if it resovled your issue. Thanks!

If you use a custom object that has a master-Detail relationship to the Opportunity to attach the files you could create a Roll-Up Summary field (RUS) on the Opportunity that returns the count of attachments, then you could create a Validation Rule (VR) like this:    AND(Entitlement_Request__c = TRUE,   Attachment_Count__c < 1)
