Permission Set to update Opportunity/Probability not working as intended

I created a Permission Set to give a single user (not via Profiles) the ability to update the Probability of Opportunities but it is not working.  The user has access to edit other Opportunitiy fileds just not the Probability.

 

I created the Permission Set.

 

Assigned it to License - Salesforce

 

Edited the Object Settings for Opportunities

 

Checked 'Edit Access' for the field Probability

 

Added Assignments and made the specific User Active

 

Still cannot edit the Probability field.

 

What am I missing?

    I figured it out. 

     

    I had to modify the Page Layout such that Probability was not set to Read Only and then set the field permission for Probability for all Profiles to Read Only and then the Permission Set worked as an override to the user's Profile setting
