Open opportunities to homepage

Is there a way to add a section to your hompage that shows your open opportunities?  I'd like to add this for our sales guys so they dont have to run a report or even click into other tabs.  We like to have a snap shot up from for them by list so they can see some details.

    Bill's point 1. is a good idea - can you then not add that dashboard compnent to the home page layout for yoru sales team - as in our organisation, we have different dashboard components viewed on the home page layout dependent on the team the user is in?
