Migrating QuoteDocument

Question

What is the best way to migrate 17,000 Quote PDFs from old system to new? Exporting QuoteDocument with pdf binary via Dataloader is way too large a file to work with. We tried chunking the file up, but when we tried with a single record we got REQUIRED FIELD MISSING error.

Anyone have any experience or workarounds here? The only thing I could find online is this post, which isn't working for us thus far: http://salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/23848/export-all-quote-pdfs-for-migration
