getting email on the day task is due, not day set up

When I open a new task I get a email right away about the event but I want to get a email sent to me the day and time of the task that was set up. Can that be done? If so how and where?

    Outlook does not send you an email to remind you, it pops up a box to remind you. Salesforce supports this.

     

    At the bottom of the Task page you can set yourself a Reminder. What this does is creates a popup at the given time on the given date you set the Reminder for (of course make sure you check the box next to it as well. However, if you have popups blocked, you wont get the Reminder.
