Is there a way to change the settings to display those, or is the Idea body hidden within the app somewhere that I was not able to find?

They should fully display. Using Salesforce on the new iPad operating system is covered in this Knowledge Article Number 000350831. The Ideas tab is available the Community app. You can select this app from the Lightning Platform app menu in the top right corner of any Salesforce page. Note that your administrator may have customized your profile to also display the Ideas tab in other apps. Ohana!!
