Up until yesterday, search was working as expected. If I was looking for a contact and had the exact spelling, search would find the contact and perhaps a couple of others. Now it seems to be pulling every contact with any word in the string, so for Michael Badgley, it would return seemingly all Michaels, even with "Exact Phrase" turned on (Which I never had to use before). And using quotes didn't change the results either.

 

I checked some of the results to see if the name I'm searching for is somewhere on the records, but it isn't.

 

And it's happening on Contact Merge too, which only can show the first page of results, rendering that function unusable.

 

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Although this question is almost two years old, I still like to comment on it. Yes we have the same issue too. On one hand, not only is the exact match not on top of the list (with or without using exact phrase), but also sometimes we can copy & paste a record name into the global search to not have it appear in the results.

     

    This is a very annoying thing and causes our users to rely on our old database.
