Hi,

Using our community URL to try to login and get an access token using the "/services/oauth2/token" endpoint "grant_type=password", we post (using postman) the appropriate parameters, per the oauth 2.0 username/password flow, and a valid username and password however the endpoint returns an error:

error": "unsupported_grant_type",

"error_description": "grant type not supported"

I see some posts stating to use a security token on the end of the password however the login is for External identity so not sure I can get a security token for that as well as it would not be ideal for end customer logins.

Any thoughts?

Thank You,

Brian

    The custom attributes are part of the OpenId token, which requires an OAuth flow to be executed.

    If you cannot run an OAuth flow and really on a SOAP login to access to the API, then you would have to make a dedicated API call once logged in to retrieve the relevant information from the org (via Apex REST if you need a custom logic in Apex to calculate those attributes, or via one of the standard APIs if the attributes are stored in one or several objects in your org).
