Hello, I have a question about Process Builder and Workflow. In the trailhead at this link:
https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/business_process_automation/process_whichtool there is a chart with different scenarios. For the scenario "When an opportunity stage is updated, also update a custom checkbox field.", it lists Process Builder as the tool of choice. My question is why is Workflow not the tool of choice? I think this could be handled by Workflow because Workflow can be kicked off when a record is changed - i.e., when the stage is updated, and Workflow can update fields on the current record - so can update the checkbox field - right?
thanks!
Candice
Hello Candice,
Salesforce says in their Say Goodbye to Workflow and Hello to Process Builder Trailhead that "Process Builder is the future. We’re no longer enhancing Workflow. We still support your use of workflow rules, and will continue to do so. But all new functionality for the workflow use case will come through Process Builder." .....For this reason, when I have tried to reduce the number of workflow rules I create and utilize the Process Builder when I can.
