@Dorothy Smatana, your Community should be unaffected by moving your users to Lightning Experience, especially if you use a Salesforce Tabs + Visualforce Community. Check out this article for more details - https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=networks_lightning_in_communities.htm&type=5.
