I am interested in enabling enhanced folder sharing but I am unclear of the affects that will have on existing report and dashboard folders. I have recorded all the current folder access information. Is it as simple as turning it on and the access remains the same or do I need to make modifications to folder access and permissions?

Enhanced folder sharing does try to respect the "old" existing folder sharing. The permissions might not map cleanly in all cases (since Enhanced Folder Sharing is more granular than the "old" folder sharing). This knowledge article should list how the mapping is done once an admin enables Enhanced Folder Sharing, as well as lists tips for the admin to follow after enabling this feature:
