Hi All,
I have added a custom field on my content version object called type in order to know which type of file a user is uploading. But I can't find a way to add that field on the layout.
I want that field when user clicks on 'Upload file ' button and i also want to add that field on the Files related list of that object.
I can't seem to add any field to the files related list by clicking on edit layout and going to the related list section
Any help is appreciated.

@Aquib Javed , after poking around a bit, I do not think that is possible.
Neither in Classic nor Lightning Experience can we customize the columns shown in the Files related list, nor what fields are prompted for when user chooses to upload a file.
In Classic, you could customize the page layout when viewing the "Content Detail Page" link (example:
https://<instance>.salesforce.com/sfc/#version/0690a0000037FSf) when viewing the details of a file record. However, I haven't come across that "Content Detail Page" link in Lightning yet.
