Should there be any difference when using global picklists in fields that are part of dependent picklist relationships (either as controller or controlled) compared to functionality with non-global picklists? I don't immediately see any mention of a difference, but would love to have confirmation, especially considering others are reporting some issues in this regard.

@Peter Bender, as of now there should not be. In the Winter release there were limitations that have now been removed. The docs are also updated, so you no longer see mention of this limitation.
