I don't see the "New" button when trying to add a new picklist value to the Status field on the Campaign Member. the two picklist values that exist now are Responded and Sent. This field is required per the Page Layout. Interestingly it says the Responded and Sent values were modified by me on 8/8/11 within 10 minutes of having just made myself a Marketing User. I have no recollection of going into Campaign Member status field and adding picklist items. I barely had a clue what campaigns were in salesforce at the time it says I modified these picklist values!

I have full system admin rights and looked at other standard picklist fields for campaign member and they all have a "new" button available. What am I missing?

Has anyone worked out a workaround to this original question? Scott/Abhisek's answers are helpful, however it would be very useful to have pre-set campaign member status' to avoid having to manually add these each time I create a new campaign. I can create a custom Status field on the Campaign Member object, but the standard Status field still remains a required field which isn't ideal.

I wonder if anyone has had this particular issue and whether y'all have any ideas about handling this. I'm still relatively new as a SF admin and I'm filling in the gaps in my knowledge šŸ™‚

We're a nonprofit and we run Sales Cloud with a few (not all) NPSP elements. We use standard contacts and accounts. One of our teams uses the Mailchimp integration to add SF contacts via the Mailchimp newsletter signup on an external website. It gets a lot of traffic and many stakeholders have signed up with multiple email addresses. The MC integration creates "new" signups (often duplicates) as SF leads, which we manually convert.

So far, we've been allowing duplicates for each unique email subscription through MC. We're pretty early in our org-wide SF launch so it hasn't come to a head yet, but our current process is not sustainable. The reasoning for allowing duplicates is that its unclear whether a single contact can be subscribed with multiple emails. I'm concerned that putting one subscribed email into the additional email field on the contact (and eliminating the duplicate record) would signal to MC that the subscriber doesn't exist in SF?

This feels super confusing so here's an example:

I'm subscribed to the MC mailing list (associated with a single campaign in SF) with my professional email proemail@example.com.

I'm also subscribed to the MC mailing list with my personal email personalemail@example.com.

On my contact record, if proemail is in the main email field, it's associated with MC. If I put personalemail into the additional email field, will MC recognize it?

I'm thinking this has to do with field mapping maybe.

Will SF reject the second email since the MC mailing list is linked with a single campaign, and one contact can't be in a single campaign twice? Or can it?

I know enough to know that I'm missing some contextual knowledge to fully understand this. Hopefully its a simple answer! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, thank you!

Putting the second address into another email field won’t necessarily make the existing integration treat it as another subscription for that Contact.

I’d figure out how you want to model those subscriptions in Salesforce first. If the current Mailchimp integration keeps creating Leads and duplicates, another option is to handle the sync separately. I’ve used Skyvia (https://skyvia.com/data-integration/integrate-salesforce-mailchimp) for Mailchimp and Salesforce when I needed more control over the mapping and how records were matched before loading them.

I'm trying to delete an Account record type, but it says that one of my user profile has it selected as the default. The user profile is called "External Who." When I try to click on it from the screen where it notifies me that it's using that record type as a default, Salesforce says I have insufficient privileges to view that user profile. I'm a System Administrator.

When I go to the "Profiles" section under "Manage Users," I don't see a user profile called "External Who." It's as if it doesn't exist. I also can't select that profile when editing a user. I can't see who created it or how. The biggest issue is that it is tied to the record type I want to delete.

Has anyone run into this before? How do I fix it?

Here is an update on how to do this if you use the new Enhanced Profile User Interface.

First thing to do is **disable** the Enhanced Profile User Interface checkbox in the User Interface

Setup> Customize> User Interface> Setup Section> Deselect  Enable Enhanced Profile User Interface> Save

    Proceed with the following Steps:

    1)Follow this click path:

Setup> Manage Users> Profiles> System Administrator> Navigate to Record Types> Click the Edit Link on the Object in question's Section

At this Point you will be at the Edit Record Type Settings Page for the Object.

2)Copy the URL from the address bar on your browser and paste it into note pad:

    https://naX.salesforce.com/setup/ui/profilerecordtypeedit.jsp?id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&tid=Opportunity&pn=System+Administrator&retURL=/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    3)Now follow this click path

Open the external who profile, (or any others you need to update)

You might get an insufficient privileges, that is fine we just need the ID from the profile.

4)Copy the 15 digit Salesforce Id from the URL in the Address bar of your Browser:

    yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

5)You are now going to replace the id in the Edit Record Type Settings Opportunity Page ( the first id number right after the "jsp?id=" in the URL ) with the Id from the Chatter Free User.

    This:

    https://naX.salesforce.com/setup/ui/profilerecordtypeedit.jsp?id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&tid=Opportunity&pn=System+Administrator&retURL=/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Should now look like this:

    https://na5.salesforce.com/setup/ui/profilerecordtypeedit.jsp?id=yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy&tid=Opportunity&pn=System+Administrator&retURL=/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx was replaced with yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

6)Now copy the modified Url and paste it in the Address bar of your browser and hit enter.

7)You will now be able to remove the value by highlighting it and selecting remove. Switch the Default record type to whatever you like and hit save.

NOTE - If no Record Type is wanted the default will HAVE to be "-Master-"

Once you are finished you can turn Enhanced Profile User Interface back on.

Hi,

I am trying to mass delete files from SalesForce Content using the contentdocumentid (obtained from an export of the ContentWorkspaceDocument object).

The error message that I am getting is the following: "Cannot complete this operation. You cannot remove a document from its owning workspace. :  "

Thanks for your suggestions.

I want the emails to be associated to the contacts they were sent to and/or from.

If you want to import all existing emails from a PST file, the right method depends on where you want those emails to be imported. It is important for a large mailbox to keep the folder hierarchy, attachments and message properties rather than exporting individual emails.

In case the destination requires a different email format, then you may try

    DataVare PST Converter

for bulk PST conversion. It can process single PST or multiple PST files in a folder and export the mailbox data to MBOX, EML, EMLX, MSG, NSF, TGZ, HTML, MHTML, PDF and IMAP file formats. Conversion preserves folder and subfolder hierarchy, email properties and attachments.

For a complete mailbox, batch processing is useful because all selected PST data can be handled together. The Date Range filter can also be left unused when the intention is to process the entire PST rather than a specific period.

Before importing the complete mailbox, test a sample PST and verify the resulting folder structure and attachments.

When creating a report there is a special field called Last Activity which is very helpful. In addition to showing the date of the Last Activity, I would like to also show additional pieces of information from that Activity such as the Subject field.

Is there a way to do this? I can't figure out anyway to show this field using either an Account report or an Activity Report.

I want to create a report that shows information just for the most recent Activity for a set of Accounts.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The sales manager asked that any new qualified leads be assigned to the sales people in a round robin rotation system, but I'm finding it's not that simple.

Since so many of the leads that come in through the website are spam (another problem for another day), the leads that come in are assigned to a lead assignment queue that's currently 2 members of the marketing team to qualify them.

Once they're qualified (Status field update), that gets pushed over to the director of sales. Then if he goes to change the owner of the lead to the queue, how does the queue know to rotate them correctly?

I used this link (https://www.shellblack.com/administration/create-a-round-robin-lead-or-case-assignment-rule/) as a guide to help set it up with the additional fields that can help, but I'm not sure how to put it all together to make it easier.

Any thoughts?

Salesforce doesn't natively support true round robin when a lead is reassigned to a queue. Sending the lead back to the queue won't automatically assign it to the next rep.

A better approach is to trigger the assignment when the lead status changes to Qualified

using Flow (or Apex if your logic is more complex). The flow can identify the next rep in the rotation and assign the lead directly.

If your routing rules go beyond simple round robin (availability, territories, workload, etc.), get your hands on tools like LeadAngel, LeanData, or Kubaru. They are often used to handle that automatically instead of maintaining custom automation.

No. You cannot modify the Lead Conversion page layout instead you can create a new custom page and call it from a new custom button.

To your second question, You need to have support to enable the "Apex Lead Convert" feature. Once this was enabled, navigate to Lead Settings and check "Require validation for converted leads". This finally gave me the screen that provided options as to/to not create contacts & accounts.

Hi All,

We’ve set up Einstein on our developers org. Per the requirements in the readiness report, we’ve created 1000 leads and converted 120 of them to contacts, accounts and opportunities. When we start the process of lead scoring, it says it takes 24 hours to process , but after 24 hours it fails with a message ā€œModeling Failed - We are unable to set up Einstein Lead Scoring for your org at this timeā€. We tried again and again and it always fails.

Opportunity scoring is stuck with a message ā€œAfter Einstein Opportunity Scoring is enabled, it can take around 48 hours before the initial processing is complete and users start seeing scores.ā€ – It’s always the same message and the status never changes.

We checked and re-checked our settings based on the following help pages and it seems like we should have satisfied all requirements:

https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=einstein_sales_considerations.htm&type=5 (https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=einstein_sales_considerations.htm&type=5" style="color:#.0563c1; text-decoration:underline)

Does anyone have any idea what ā€œModeling Failedā€ means? Is there anything else that Einstein is looking for in order to generate scoring for leads and opportunities?

Thanks for your help!

Einstein Lead/opportunity Scoring requires a full sandbox with sufficient historical data from a production org. Developer Edition orgs and scratch orgs do not have the data history required to build a scoring model. So in summary you will be able to test it only in the Full copy sandbox and that to it will only give the accurate scoring based on the historical data that you have. In short you can test the functionality how will it work but you should not compare it to your production

What do others use for matching leads to accounts?

We are looking at two options right now:

1. A combination of a process builder and flow that would look at the lead email domain to account domains and assign based on the information

2. An app called Traction Complete.

Does anyone have experience with either option or do you use anything else to gain more insight on potential existing relationships with the lead's company/account?

Hi all - thank you for your suggestions. After reviewing our options, we decided to go with Traction Complete.
