In legacy Live Chat, we used to show all chat transcript record for a particular Case on our community case detail page in a related list. It seems we cannot do the same in MIAW because we can only fetch the conversation via Connect API. Just came across this MIAW feature that it allows end users to see old conversation if they are verified. Can anyone please help with how to verify users for this. I have seen multiple documents but they all seem to be about external Websites and android apps. I need this only for Community.

Not sure , if it will serve our purpose because we display chat button on Case Detail page and would ideally like to see conversation for that particular case only but one end user can have multiple cases.

We spent about 2 hours on the phone with our IT person and the SF support team to get it set up in our sandbox. I could not tell you what they ended up having to do at the end of all that. BUT also, we were told after all of that we really did not need User Verification since all of our users will be authenticating in from Experience Cloud not an external platform. I am sure that may have changed by now. We had to abandon that project for others.

Agents are not able to link Messaging user to Contact Record.

SF provides this guide for how to link other record types to Message Users. However, when I perform the same steps there is no section for adding other record types. Is this documentation outdated? Has anyone else tried linking the Message Users to other record types (I'm looking to link them to leads)

SF Steps:

1. From Setup in Lightning Experience, enter Messaging in the Quick Find box, and select Messaging Settings.

2. Click the down arrow to the right of the channel that you want to edit.

3. Click Edit.

4. The Edit Messaging Channel modal page opens.

5. Select the record type that you want agents to link Messaging User records to. For example, you can link Messaging User records to Contact records.

6. To open linked records as subtabs, select the checkbox.

7. Click Save.

We have a scheduled flow that has a Messaging Notification core action followed by an update to the Messaging Session and an update to the Messaging User, in that order.

The notification is received but while Updating the Messaging User we have this error

After tests it seems that if we remove the Messaging Notification core action the Update proceeds with no issues.

I don't see anything on the documentation about automatic updates to the Messaging User after the notification is send that may cause the lock error.

Any Idea on why is the Messaging User record locked in this case?

The Messaging Notification Core Action has strange behavior. It can be placed in the middle of a Flow and the creation of the Messaging Sessions seems to happen in the appropriate sequence. However, from my previous observation, the actual Messaging Notification does not happen until the rest of the Flow resolves so right after/as you are updating the Messaging User. It seems that the Messaging Notification locks the Messaging User up until the Flow completes.

What happens if we want to send a broadcast message to a list of contacts, but the contact has multiple messaging users related to it? Does it send to all of them?

Hi, I have already been through both of those documents and neither answer the question above.

We have multiple phone numbers on a contact and aren't sure what will happen if we make a messaging user for each number related back to the same contact. We are not sure if a broadcast sms message to a contact list will send to one or all of those messaging users.

Hello Everyone,

Happy New to all of you !!

I am working on Messaging setup in Service cloud and need some basic answers.

Can we restrict to create only one messaging user irrespective of multiple messaging sessions.

When a messaging user is created in SF it is using the messaging channel as a unique field.

As our messaging channels grow (currently at 3 numbers) this is creating a new user for each unique combination of Customer Phone number + Messaging channel.

But this is the same customer with the same mobile number. Can I create only one messaging end user

Hoping someone can help....Any Messaging (SMS) experts of there?

I am getting a system dupe error (not a duplicate error message, as we don't have those enabled) when I try to create two Messaging User records with the same Messaging User Name/Message Platform Key (which is essentially the cell # from the Contact).

The dupe message is odd though as it's about the Messaging Channel ID, which is the same for all Messaging Users anyway.

When I change the Messaging User Name/Message Platform Key to unique, I no longer get the error, even though the Messaging Channel ID is still the same.

Any ideas?

I need to be able to create Messaging Users, even if they have the same mobile #.
