But my issue is a little different. out of 100+ HTTP calls to an external endpoint 1 or two calls fail randomly with the error above. The issue is not happening in the sandbox environment and only happens randomly in the Production instance.
The solution provided in the other post of whitelisting all of Salesforce IP's is just not practical since there are thousands of IP addresses.
Can anyone provide a more practical solution for this problem? Is there any way we can see the IP address that salesforce uses when this problem occurs randomly so we can whitelist those IP's. Any other means to send a salesforce quote ID to an external database if not via endpoint?

Please be reminded that our best practice and recommendation is to allow the entire list of Salesforce IP ranges for seamless access.
Our Network Engineering team recommends that customers allow the following subnet mask IPs:
