When editing object permissions via a permission set, some fields are automatically check for edit and cannot be unchecked.
- Why does this happen?
- Is there a way to remove this edit access?
On certain objects, some users must only have read access.

Hi Steve,
These are custom fields on the Opportunity of varying types.
I figured out the solution. These fields are locked with edit access because they are required at the object level. I unchecked "Required" for the field on the object then required the field on the page layout.
