Hi,

In Winter '15, there's a new header called Sforce-Call-Options (https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.api_rest.meta/api_rest/headers_calloptions.htm). The header acts like the CallOptions (https://www.salesforce.com/developer/docs/api/Content/sforce_api_header_calloptions.htm⌗topic-title) for the SOAP API but for the REST API.

In the SOAP API, you can specify any custom string as the client and the string will be used for the API Usage report (http://salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/21976/client-id-blank-in-api-calls-made-within-last-7-days-report).

In the REST API, you must use a partner token.

Is there any way I can specify a custom client string for the REST API? This way, the REST calls would report with something better than an empty string.

Thanks!
