What are the record types? How many ways we can assign record page?

1)Record types ?

2)What are the three ways by which we assign a record page? 

3)How many ways of activation a page

Im confused over here anyone can help me

    Hi Pradnya,

    Recordtypes:

    Record types determine the business processes, page layouts, and picklist values users have access to.

     Rescordtype assignmnet ways:

    1.pagelayouts.

    Navigation: object manager --> select object --> click on pagelayouts --> click on edit assignment.

    2.profiles.

    Navigation: setup --> select profiles --> click on recordtype settings --> click on edit assignment.

    3.permissionsets.

    Navigation: setup --> select permissionset --> create New pemissionset 

    How many ways of activation a page:

    You can activate the lightning page by using recordtype or profile or application.
