I am looking to create some journeys which run mid to long term to take care of the day to day marketing, allowing time to be freed up to do other more specialist work.
So, I want to create a journey that lasts for around 12 months, however, I really want to be able to tweak it as we go along if necessary. Not just edit the emails, but possibly introduce new splits and activities. Is this possible in journey builder without creating new versions? And if a new version is required, will the audience just flow seamlessly into the new version or will they have to start again?

Hello danny,
This year I had a similiar question regarding your point "And if a new version is required, will the audience just flow seamlessly into the new version or will they have to start again?" and Salesforce support responded:
"1) You can create a new version and modify the Journey as per your use-case. Click save.
2) On the New version, click on 'Activate', you will get a pop-up with below message:
"Upon Activation, this Draft becomes the Current Active Version of the Interaction. People who qualify for the Interaction will enter this version.
Customers in the previous active version will remain in that version until they exit or the version is stopped."
Go-head by clicking on 'Activate'.
3) Then this becomes the active version and the previous version status changes to 'Finishing'. People who qualify for the Interaction will enter this version.
Customers in the previous active version will remain in that version until they exit or the version is stopped.

Regarding the first part, as long as I know there is no possibility of modifing an active journey without creating a new version.
