I'm looking for a way to allow internal Users to easily send a password reset email to Community Users. There are standard Buttons/Actions to enable a Community User or log in as a Community User that can be accessed on a Contact's record. I'd like to have a similar option for sending a password reset email. Any tips?

Right now, internal Users have instructions for sending that email through Setup, but I'd like to simplify that process and remove the ability for them to access Setup.

Thanks!

I don't think Experience users can use forgot password until they have an initial password set

When updating the default address on a Household account, the Mailing Address for the related Contacts is update as well. This works for most accounts...but I have identified a few that aren't working and I can't figure out why or how they are different from the accounts which work as expected.

    @Eric Pohlabel @Ankur Jain

Hello from the future. Did you figure this out? I was running into a similar situation and discovered that somehow the seasonal address fields had been set to use an old address for month 1 to month 12, and all days. When I updated those fields to be empty the addresses updated everywhere else as expected.

Not sure if this is the same situation, but I felt the need to share after spending some time searching through trailhead for similar issues.

Russell Everett a posé une question dans Who owes me a beer?!?

When my Salesforce licensed users are emailing from within salesforce to customers - the email address the customer sees has the long string of random digits including 'Salesforce' in the string. Often times, customers have addresses like these going to their spam so our messaging isnt see.

How can i revise this to work properly and only show the username / email from our sellers when they email out of salesforce and not this string of garbage?

Thanks!

Russell

    Hi Russell,

That long string of random characters (something like user=company.com__xyz...@salesforce.com or via bnc.salesforce.com) appears because Salesforce sends emails on your users' behalf using Sender ID compliance and bounce management, which modifies the envelope From / Return-Path header.

Here is how to remove that string and send clean, reputable emails showing only your rep’s name and corporate email address:

Solution 1: Turn Off Sender ID Compliance & Bounce Management (Quickest)

If you send emails directly through Salesforce servers without an external email integration, Salesforce rewrites the sender envelope by default.

    1. Go to Setup > enter Deliverability in the Quick Find box > select Deliverability.
    2. Scroll to the Email Security Compliance section.
    3. Uncheck the following boxes:
      • Enable Sender ID compliance
      • Enable bounce management
    4. Click Save.

Solution 2: Use "Send through External Email Service" (Recommended Best Practice)

The cleanest, most reliable approach is to route user emails through your company's actual mail server (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365). This eliminates the Salesforce relay address completely and places sent emails directly in the user’s corporate "Sent Items" folder.

    1. Go to Setup > enter Send through External Email Services in the Quick Find box.
    2. Toggle on Send through external email services.
    3. Enable either:
      • Send through Gmail (if using Google Workspace)
      • Send through Office 365 (if using Microsoft 365)
    4. The next time a user clicks the Send Email button in Salesforce, they will be prompted once to authenticate with their corporate email credentials.

After connecting, all emails sent by that user will come directly from their native mail server—no Salesforce routing strings, no header spoofing flags, and maximum inbox deliverability.

Hello there,

I'm working on setting up Files Connect with SharePoint online.

After setup, currently, the External Source seems to be connected and Authenticated (as seen the External Data Sources entry  Administration Authentication Status | Authenticated

However, as a User, when trying to Access the SharePoint, after clicking "Trust" to connect my account, I'm getting the common / Know Issue "Can't access external source. External data source is unavailable because of an error."

Files Connect with SharePoint online:

The Known issues page proposes two workaround.

I tried No 1, pretty small change in the Setup, but it did not work...

No 2 suggest to "create an external authentication record for the user"  Is that something that the Admin must do on the Setup or is this something the end User must do?

I'm asking because its confusing. On this Help Page it says

Before you begin your administrator:

Sets up the external data source or named credential to use per-user authentication.

  • Grants you access to the external data source or named credential.
  • Verifies that your org can connect to the external system.
  • Tells you the authentication settings to enter.
  • Sets up the community, if applicable, by using the Salesforce Tabs + Visualforce template. If the community is built with the Customer Service template, only your administrator can set up and manage your authentication settings for external systems. You can’t complete these steps on your own.

Any guidance here is very welcomed

I know this is a very old question, but just in case it helps someone. The External Data Source should first be granted to the individual user via permset/profile. That is all it meant by the bolded line.

User should now see a banner they can follow to authenticate with that data source, or otherwise follow.

If you get to the point where you are seeing an error like this

"Can't access external source. External data source is unavailable because of an error" and you are using the Auth Provider approach, it is most likely a problem with the permissions granted on the Sharepoint (Azure Management Console's Web Application ) side. The SF help docs just say "add permissions", but it doesn't work unless you add a specific set:

    • AllSites.FullControl
    • EnterpriseResource.Write
    • MyFiles.Write
    • Sites.Search.All

if you add all those, then resync the external source metadata and try again it should work

How to delete NPSP Data Import records before the final Import?

Ran NPSP Data Import and found some blank data was imported. The next day, deleted the records and checked from "All" that the records were deleted. Ran NPSP Data Import ensure the correct number of records were import. When trying to take the next step of Data Import, no records were found.

Ran NPSP Data Import records and all the records were found but not available for Importing.

Can all the 2 days of records be completely deleted and start a new import?

This was the solution that worked for me.  I had two thousand records needed to delete after I discovered a mistake in the data I was going to import.  I created a report on the NPSP Date Import object to include the records I wanted to delete.  Make sure you include the Salesforce Record ID, the Import ID will not work.  With Salesforce Record ID  in hand I used Dataloader to delete the import records,

Hi, I understand the sales cloud has this integration for google analytics: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7584446?hl=en

and the upcoming Elevate add on will be able to integrate google analytics with NPSP but I do not know if non-profits have free/DIY alternatives to integrate Google and NPSP today. Has anyone achieved this? Would like to know how to send the gift information and user profile so Google Ads segmentation can benefit from the CRM info. It would also be good to know the pricing of Elevate, although I don't the group will be able to afford another expense right now (maybe later).

Thank you!

We used Skyvia (https://skyvia.com/connectors/salesforce) for the Salesforce side of a similar setup, mainly to get the CRM data out and into a place where we could work with it further. It won’t handle the whole Google Ads audience piece for you, but it can take care of moving the NPSP data you need without building the export yourself.

I just enabled dynamic related lists in my Opportunity lightning record pages, removed the Related Lists (plural) component, and tried to use the Dynamic Related List - Single component to expose Opportunity Contact Roles.

I could not find Opportunity Contact Role as a choice in the Related List field of the Dynamic Related List - Single component.

How can I make Contact Roles visible after turning on dynamic related lists?

Or is that not possible (yet), and must use the Related Lists component just to expose Contact Roles via the old page layout?

Dynamic related lists are supported for key objects (Contact, Account, Opportunity, Lead, Case), custom objects, and hundreds of other standard objects in Salesforce. However, some objects are not yet supported. Salesforce will continue to make additional objects available to use with dynamic related lists over time.

I couldn't find a specific list anywhere, but I guess this is just not a supported standard object at this time.

Hi Experts,

I want to do a mass exporting files or attachments specifically related to Salesforce objects such as Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, etc.

Could you please provide guidance and suggestions on the potential methods to accomplish this?

    Hi Manjula Rajaram,

Recently I worked on the Data Migration- Attachements Of Contacts (Export:10,000 and Import:7,000 Attachments) by using Data loader  and also I used third party tool both were working fine.

Please fallow the below steps for Export:

1.Prepare the Soql and apply the export operation.

Select  FieldsALL()  FROM Attachment where Parent.Type = 'Contact' order by createddate limit 1000
