Hey there,

We have been using Chrome's extension 'Salesforce' to log emails from Gmail to Salesforce. For last 3 days, we are facing the error 'Hmm. The email server is unavailable. Try again later.'  Attaching screenshots for reference.

Hi all,

Clients of several of our users suddenly received updates for past meetings, some from April. Microsoft 365 audit logs show the changes came from the Salesforce Inbox / EAC app via Microsoft Graph.

What we found:

  • EAC rewrote about 6 months of meetings in batches: first in Salesforce, then in Outlook a few seconds later.
  • Only the time zone and the body changed, not times or attendees. Exchange still sent an update to every attendee, since the user is the organizer.
  • Trigger identified: IT had emailed users a reminder to [reconnect their account] soon. Users did it, and invites were then resent massively.
  • Some users were hit without any mass re-sync. We suspect that any touch on a meeting, for example dismissing a reminder, makes EAC push its version back.

Salesforce Support says this is a known limitation with Microsoft Graph, and notifications can't be suppressed.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone seen this after an EAC reconnection?
  2. Is there a way to reconnect without a full re-sync of past events?
  3. What mitigation worked for you, while keeping email capture active?

Thanks!

    @Steeve ORGAWITZ

    1. Yes, this is a known pattern after EAC reconnection. When a user reconnects, EAC re-establishes its sync baseline and re-pushes its stored version of events back out. Because the organiser is the user, Exchange treats each rewrite as a legitimate update and notifies every attendee. The timezone/body-only change rewriting 6 months of meetings is the classic signature. You’re not misreading it.
    2. Reducing the re-sync window is the key lever. EAC syncs events within a configured time range, and past events outside that window aren’t re-pushed. In your EAC configuration, check the sync timeframe setting for events. If it’s set to sync a wide historical window, narrowing it so EAC only syncs recent and future events dramatically limits what gets rewritten on reconnect. You generally don’t need EAC rewriting April’s meetings anyway. Tightening that window before any mass reconnect is the single most effective prevention. A full reconnect with no past-event sync isn’t really exposed as a clean toggle, but narrowing the event sync window gets you most of the way there.
    3. The mitigation is to control the reconnection itself, not suppress notifications after the fact.

Narrow the event sync window first (above), then have users reconnect. Far fewer events in scope means far fewer rewrites.

Hello,

I am looking for a solution to one way sync events from a Public Salesforce calendar to a Shared Outlook or Individual Outlook account. So team would manage new event creation in Salesforce shared calendar and user would only SEE (View only) events in his Outlook Calendar.

Any ideas on how I could accomplish this?

Russell Everett a posé une question dans Who owes me a beer?!?

When my Salesforce licensed users are emailing from within salesforce to customers - the email address the customer sees has the long string of random digits including 'Salesforce' in the string. Often times, customers have addresses like these going to their spam so our messaging isnt see.

How can i revise this to work properly and only show the username / email from our sellers when they email out of salesforce and not this string of garbage?

Thanks!

I am researching the best way to provide the ability for users to add recurring events into Salesforce through Outlook Integration. Everything I am finding recommends setting up Einstein Activity Capture (EAC). I am also wondering how evets that are cancelled / changed get updated?

I would love to hear from others that have implemented this or something similar!

    Hi @Pradnya Dudhade

    ,

i am facing issue with logging the event in salesforce some of the meeting save in salesforce for me but not all.  The meetings that I struggle with seem to be created by external senders.

how can i fix this, can anyone help on this.

Hi all,

We recently started using the new Outlook Salesforce Add-In, but "Related to Salesforce" category tag is not tagging the email as expected.

Here’s what we’ve noticed:

  • The add-in loads fine inside new Outlook.
  • When click save button in Log Email, the "Related to Salesforce" category tag either doesn’t respond or fails to display related records.
  • No obvious error messages appear, so it’s hard to troubleshoot.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

  • Is there a specific configuration or permission needed for this feature to work?
  • Are there known bugs or updates we should be aware of?

Any guidance or troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I dont see "Log Emails on Send" as an option for creating a new Permission Set.

I have a shared mailbox that needs to (a) send with the correct FROM address by default, and (b) have email tracked to Salesforce via the Outlook Integration add-in.

What I tried so far:

  1. Auto-mapped shared mailbox — Tracking works, but users must manually select the shared mailbox in the From field every time; Outlook doesn't default to it. Too easy to send under the wrong identity by mistake.
  2. Shared folder (delegate access) — Same FROM problem as above, no improvement.
  3. Manually added as a second full account — Fixes the FROM problem; Outlook correctly defaults to the shared address in that context. But the Salesforce add-in no longer connects at all in that context, so nothing gets tracked.

It's a known limitation that shared mailboxes won't work with the add-in. What are the options left then? What's the best setup possible in this situation?

    @Oleg Mastriukov

There's no native way to auto-default the FROM to the shared address while keeping the add-in connected. Outlook decides the FROM behavior, and neither Salesforce nor the add-in can force that switch. So you're choosing between manual FROM selection (add-in works) or a full second account (FROM defaults, add-in dies). There's no config that gives you both natively.

Our customers - are Healthcare Organisations. And a lot of times they use the same email address, with different "from" and "to" name - a person's name. So there are times, when 5 different contacts have the same email.

Now with email as an Activity, it only creates one activity on the latest edited Contact and it is not always correct. Is there something official (or do I need to rely on AI) to create something that helps to relate the email to a correct Contact? Or at least relate it to all contacts that have the same email worst case? And not creating 5 tasks, but just relations?

I cannot find any official documentations how to edit the Activity Matching flow. Also I saw somewhere that it is recommended to use Apex for matching and not flow...

Any ideas would be helpful! Thank you

I have considered this from the perspective of an email address as a unique identifier, and that I did not want multiple contact's email addresses to have the same "shared mailbox" address. So I embrace what the organization is telling me - that they want all interactions with that email address to be considered the same regardless of the actually person who sent the email. So one contact with the shared email address. But the I also create contact records for each person who I knew "worked" within that shared email address - perhaps they do have an individual mailbox with a unique email address - and somehow mark those contacts who use the shared mailbox address for regular correspondence.

We try to change the View Activity Sharing under My Settings > Email > Einstein Activity Capture > Sharing Settings > "Change"

We like to start with Events  via Einstein Activity Capture and later with contacts and then with email.

To avoid confusing users, only event information should be visible. Is it possible to adjust this view accordingly?

Einstein Activity Capture Contact Sync from Outlook > Salesforce does not work.

Contact Required Fields in Salesforce are

  • Account Name
  • Last Name
  • Telefon/Mobiltelefon
  • Email

We get no Error message it just not working.

Is there a specific setting?

The Event synchronization works without a issue.

Thanks for your help.

Kurt
