I plan to create a quick action button, insert the data once and have it auto update multiple objects including creating an event/activity.

    Hi Amy,

Salesforce has a full official trail for exactly this: Build Flows with Flow Builder. For your specific use case (one screen action → create/update records on several objects, including an Activity), here's the path in order:

    1. Get Started with Flow Builder — the basics: screen flows, quick actions, adding a flow to a record's action bar. Start here if you haven't built a screen flow before.

    2. Build Screen Flows — collecting input from the user in one screen (this is your "insert the data once" part).

    3. Updating and Retrieving Multiple Records in Flows — this module covers exactly your core need: using Get Records, collection variables, and Update Records/Create Records to touch multiple objects from a single flow run, not just one record at a time.

    4. Transform Multiple Records in Flow Builder — if any of your updates involve reshaping a set of selected records before writing them (e.g., mapping selected rows to a different object's fields), this covers the Transform element, which is the modern replacement for looping through an Update Records element.

For the "creating an Event/Activity automatically" part specifically: that's just a Create Records element for the Task/Event object added after your other Create/Update Records elements in the same flow — no separate module needed, it's covered as part of the Create Records action once you're through the modules above.

Practical structure for what you're describing:

    - Screen element to collect the input once

    - Get Records (if you need to look up related records first)

    - Create Records / Update Records elements for each target object (Task/Event, and whichever other objects need updating)

    - All wired to a single Screen Flow launched from a Quick Action button on your source object's page layout

If your objects have parent-child relationships (e.g., updating several child records tied to one parent), the Repeater component module (Create and Update Records Efficiently with Repeater) is also worth a look if users need to enter multiple rows of data in one screen rather than just one record's worth of fields.
