I've got a graph with the most recent month presented in a different colour from the rest. I'm trying to do it with a calculation, but am having trouble with the hex code for the colour.

The hex code is given in teh calculation, but shows up in the graph as something different. If I change it, it shows up as a different colour, but not the one corresponding to the hex code given.

So far, it seems the colours actually presented are form the first colour palette in Tableau, but I can't fathom how the code given corresponds.

So: How do I make the calculation actually give me the colour corresponding to the hex code? Below is the hex with the actual corresponding colours, and a twbx attached, where they show up purple and yellow...

Am actually really curious about what's going on here!

Because Tableau doesn't read the values as hex codes, it's exactly the same as the reason it doesn't make "Elephant" grey, and "Giraffe" yellow, because they are just strings of characters as far as Tableau is concerned. Tableau doesn't have programmatic allocation of colours, you're just creating categorical fields which you can then allocate any colour to.
