Difference Between Creating Groups on Geographical Location Before Tableau 10.0 and Creating Custom Territory introduced in Tableau 10.0

I have been getting multiple questions on the Difference Between Creating Groups on Geographical Location Before Tableau 10.0 and Creating Custom Territory introduced in Tableau 10.0 . So I worked on Sample Super Store and created Group on State in Tableau 9.3 and did the same exercise in Tableau 10.0 using the feature Create Custom Territory in Tableau 10.0 .
