Is it possible (without a FLOW) to populate TODAY's date when a text field has a certain value in it. Field A = Yes - formula field to populate TODAY's date

Would help to know the use-case a little better.
But one option, if you want to capture the day the field is changed to Yes, would be to use a quick action to update the field and have todays date as a predefined field for your date field of TODAY()
