mass delete error

Question

I used mass delete to eliminate all the products from the products page. After that was done, they did not disappear from the products page. When I try to eliminate them manually it mentions that records of the product still exists. Then I deleted all of the oportunities from the oportunities page using the data loader. Then, I came back to the products and they are still there. I again try to delete them manually, but it pops the message that I cannot remove them because they are records of them. But I already deleted them from oportunities. Then I went to list of prices and I try to delete the products from that list and I cannot delete them because records of the still exists. What I can I do so I can eliminate those records of the products.

Hey Jose,

When a product is linked to an opportunity you get an opportunity product record (junction). Because of this, I beleive it is not possible to delete that linkage. I would recommend doing an export of Products and Opportunity Products on the Products you would like to delete. Then with do a mass deletion using data loader of the Opportunity Products. Then you should be able to delete your Products.
