Has anyone had success in creating a field that links out to network drives? Looking to have a field link out to a network drive that holds the Opportunities "project info" like drawings, renderings and larger files that can't be stored in Salesforce.

I am not 100% sure what issue you are referring to, but if you put a URL in manually into a field (which is what I suggested as the simplest method) it should just take you to the URL.
