I was about to get excited about using a kanban list view on Opportunities to model our org's scholarship grants to students, as they move from the student winning the scholarship through several stages to the final disbursement of funds.
But try as I might, I cannot figure out how to get each Kanban column sorted by any other field than Amount (SF chose Amount, not me). I really need it sorted by a field like Opp Name that helps my users find the student in question as they scroll the list vertically, before dragging the student in question from one stage to the next.
Anyone know if it is possible to sort the Kanban columns based on a chosen field?
Hi @John Fine
Here's what you can do with the Kanban view:
- Move the Record cards which changes the stage
- You can apply filters to the kanban view
- You click the gear icon and find the options like Name, clone, Rename, edit filters, sharing settings, select fields to display, delete and kanban settings which has Summarize by and group by
But there's no sorting the kanban I'm afraid.

Hope this helps 🙂
