Staff just ran a report created a few years ago that gave incorrect results - here are the details:

Report Type: Contacts and Accounts

Filters: Cross filter of Contacts WITH Opportunities WHERE record type includes {two record types}

The report unexpectedly returned results for other record types beyond the two listed. I didn't research whether it was all rectypes or just some.

I discovered the source of the issue: one of the included rectypes had been made inactive since the report was created. When I edited the cross filter in Lightning, the inactive rectype wasn't listed in the list of rectypes I could choose, but the inactive rectype *was* shown in the "chosen" box above the list (where you see "Opportunity Record Type equals").

Simply editing the rectype filter on the cross filter then running the report fixed the issue.

In Classic, the same report won't run at all - it displays an error on the cross filter "Error: Picklist value does not exist", and "Error: Can't display the report preview until you fix the error in filters".

My question: What is the best way to report this issue? Has anyone seen an issue report anywhere? I'd say it is a significant Lightning issue, so I am guessing it's been reported somewhere already - perhaps on IdeaExchange? I couldn't find anything.
