A year ago, you elected the first community members of the Nonprofit Starter Pack Advisory Board https://powerofus.force.com/0D58000002ACrHx. 3 members from nonprofit organizations, and 3 from consulting or Appexchange partners. Thank you to everyone who participated in that process.

Since then, the Advisory Board (https://powerofus.force.com/0D58000002EGud6) has met 18 times (1-2x per month) to discuss everything from improvements to in-kind giving and honor/memorial, to the new Power of Us Ideas and everything you could imagine around improving community engagement.

It’s time again to elect members to the Advisory Board.

As spelled out in the Board’s charter https://github.com/SalesforceFoundation/NPSP-Advisory-Board, community members serve a single one-year term, but can be re-elected for a 2nd term.

This year, we asked existing Board members to nominate those members of the community that they felt had the expertise, passion and vision to contribute to the Advisory Board based on their leadership role in our community. Current members who wished to serve another term nominated themselves. These 15 outstanding individuals have accepted the nomination from their peers and now it’s your turn to select the 3 from partner organizations and 3 from nonprofit organizations who will join or remain on the Advisory Board for 2016/2017.

Nominees were invited to share short introductions/statements, which you can read here: http://bit.ly/NPSPABNominees.

You’ll need a Google Apps or Gmail login to vote. Your vote is anonymous and all votes are counted once.

The goal of this process is to have an Advisory Board that is representative and endorsed by the community it serves. As those of us in the United States are all too painfully aware right now, elections can bring out the best and worst. In response to some feedback following last year’s voting, we’re setting some ground rules in advance that we ask all nominees and voters to abide by. Please reach out to me privately with any concerns.

  • Do you control your company or organization’s Twitter, Facebook or email lists and you want to share about this election? Awesome. Go for it! But we ask that your posts only promote the general ‘Get Out The Vote’ efforts for all candidates, and not specific candidates. The form allows you to select up to 6 total nominees (3 partner, 3 from nonprofits). Please urge your networks to use all their votes and not just select a single candidate.
  • Don’t pay for social media advertising or use other forms of paid candidate endorsement strategies.
  • Feel free to promote your candidacy on your own personal social network or within your organization’s own Power of Us Hub Chatter Group if you have one.

There are nominees from large organizations and single person shops. Let’s set a fair stage.

Nominees and organizations that violate these guidelines will be brought to the attention of the current Advisory Board and may be removed from candidacy by a 2/3rd vote.

Voting will close on July 29 and the full Board will be announced on August 1.

Thank you to our entire community for what you do for everyone who is using Salesforce to impact the world for the better, and especially thank you to the existing and potential NPSP Advisory Board for your willingness to donate your precious time in this way.

It's an honor to be nominated. I hope everyone will vote for me or one of the other great people running.
