Any ways to enhance the basic functionality of Learning Paths?

We'd been struggling for a learning platform for about a year now and so the Learning Paths looks like an ideal solution.

We're testing it currently by publishing our in-house videos, but I've noticed once you click on them, they count as "completed" and move off the drop down Learning Paths and into completed....it would be great if completed items stayed visible when viewed against the object they are assigned to, perhaps on the bottom half of the screen, and maybe just the most recent 2 or 3 completed.

Also, all completed training sits in the same place - there is no way to see what was under Accounts, Contacts etc - as we had allocated them to specific objects in the first place it would be great if they could be ordered this way.

Finally, we want to plot a new-starter journey and thought we would create Public Groups - New Starter wk1, New Starter wk2  etc, and add the consultant to the public group each week. Is it possible to automate this perhaps through flow?

I think myTrailhead might have more functionality, but for now at least we don't have the budget for that so looking to see if this can be enhanced as it stands.
